The Winnipeg Folk Festival is quickly approaching and Omar’s Environmental is proud to once again be a part of this exciting event as an environmental sustainability partner. This year’s festival takes place from July 5th to July 8th with upwards of 50,000 people descend upon Bird’s Hill Park to take in a weekend of music, camping, laughter and all around good times.
The Winnipeg Folk Festival makes a considerable effort to employ practices that are environmentally friendly and limit environmental impact. By operating sustainability programs during the festival and year-round, the Winnipeg Folk Fest is a leader in its field.
Environmental Sustainability Services include Composting Services
Omar’s Environmental is an active partner of the festival – providing sustainable waste management services. For 2018, Omar’s will be stepping up and taking an active role in the festival’s composting program by providing industrial level compost services. Compost bins can be found at each of the festival’s waste stations, backstage, and the Enviro Headquarters located in the campground.
Compostable items include meat, bones and dairy products and every food vendor at the festival actively participates in the composting program by strictly using compostable plates, cutlery, napkins and packaging.
